K-pop Girl group FIFTY FIFTY's hit song 'Cupid' has successfully entered the UK Official Singles 'Top 100' Chart's 'Top 10' for the first time as a K-pop girl group, achieving a six-week consecutive chart climb.
According to the latest chart released on May 5 (local time), 'Cupid' claimed the 9th position, rising nine steps from last week.
The song has experienced a sharp rise in rankings since it first entered the chart at 96, climbing to 61, 34, 26, 18, and finally 9.
This marks the first time a K-pop girl group has reached the 'Top 10' on the UK Singles Chart. The previous highest ranking was held by BLACKPINK, who reached 17th in 2020 with their collaboration with Lady Gaga, 'Sour Candy.'
The UK Official Chart highlighted FIFTY FIFTY's achievement in an article posted on their website, saying, "FIFTY FIFTY has made history in the UK chart with 'Cupid,' becoming the first K-pop girl group 'Top 10' song."
The article added, "They have outdone K-pop girl groups like BLACKPINK, NewJins, and TWICE, who have not yet achieved this record. The success of 'Cupid' proves the steady growth of the genre (K-pop) in the UK."
'Cupid' is also in a strong position to enter the US Billboard Chart, one of the world's two major charts alongside the UK Official Chart, for seven consecutive weeks.
